About the label

We would rather
sell out.

Founded in 2019 behind a shopfront on Musa Yar'Adua Street. Six seamstresses, forty pieces a run, and a hard rule against repeating ourselves.

How it started

One rail, one print, forty dresses.

The label began because nothing on the market fit properly. Ready to wear was drafted on bodies that were not ours, and bespoke meant waiting three weeks and paying for it twice.

So we bought one bolt of print, drafted a wrap dress on a colleague, and cut forty of them. They went in eleven days. We did not reorder the print — we bought a different one and did it again, and that has been the whole method ever since.

Seven years on, the constraint has become the point. Forty pieces is what six women can finish properly in a month. It is also small enough that you will not meet your dress at a wedding.

What we hold to

Four rules we do not bend.

01

Nigerian fabric first

94% of what we cut is sourced inside the country, chosen by hand in Balogun market rather than ordered off a swatch card.

02

Drafted on Lagos bodies

Every pattern is fitted on women who live in this climate before a single production piece is sewn. No imported blocks.

03

Paid outright, never consigned

Beadwork and accessories are bought from their makers up front. Nobody carries our inventory risk but us.

04

No restocks

When a run finishes, the pattern goes in the drawer. It is the only honest way to promise you scarcity.

The floor

Six seamstresses, one room.

The atelier is one long room behind the shopfront with the cutting table down the middle and the rail against the far wall. Nothing is outsourced — if a seam is wrong it gets unpicked here.

You are welcome to come and see it. Fittings happen Tuesday through Saturday, and you can watch your size being pulled off the same rail the sample came from.
